Corbett's Riverside Gateway to the Wild

Phanto Zone occupies a scenic stretch of buffer territory in Jim Corbett National Park, bordering the Ramganga reservoir to the north. One of the few zones that offers both jeep safari slots and the rare privilege of forest night stay, Phanto gives wildlife lovers a chance to experience Corbett beyond the daylight hours — hearing the jungle come alive after dark.

The zone's landscape shifts dramatically between dense sal woodland and open meadows running alongside the Ramganga riverbed. This creates excellent conditions for wildlife sightings, with tigers, leopards and large elephant herds regularly recorded here. The riverbed attracts gharials and mugger crocodiles, as well as spectacular riverine birds.

Less visited than Bijrani, Phanto rewards patient visitors with a quieter, more intimate safari experience. The forest night stay facilities allow guests to wake before dawn, step into the jungle air, and watch the wildlife corridor stir into life — an experience that no day safari can replicate.

Why Choose Phanto Zone?

  • Night stay deep inside the buffer forest
  • Dawn and dusk safaris for peak wildlife activity
  • Ramganga riverside for gharial and bird sightings
  • Less crowded — a more personal jungle experience
  • Tiger and large elephant herd sightings
